Each year, thousands of young patients benefit from the pioneering clinical and research work of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. With a distinguished roster of physicians specializing in pediatric cardiovascular disease, we have established a preeminent, and one of the largest, pediatric cardiology centers in the nation. Our cardiologists provide care for a wide range of conditions and diseases that affect newborns, infants, children, adolescents and young adults. These include:

  • acquired heart disease
  • congenital heart defects and anomalies
  • fetal cardiac defects
  • adult congenital heart disease
  • arrhythmias
  • cardiomyopathy
  • heart failure
  • heart transplant
  • pulmonary hypertension
  • complex single ventricle anomalies

Download Our Congenital Heart Center BrochureOur comprehensive program begins with a complete medical history and thorough evaluation to fully understand the scope of a child's heart condition. Our diagnostic and treatment services include:

  • Advanced pediatric cardiac imaging, including 3D-echocardiography and MRI
  • Fetal echocardiography
  • Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Exercise Laboratory
  • Pediatric Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory
  • Arrhythmia Management and Electrophysiology Services
  • Interventional Cardiology Program
  • Pediatric Heart Failure Program
  • Pediatric Heart Transplant Program
  • Pulmonary Hypertension Center
  • Adult Congenital Heart Program
  • Preventive Cardiology Program
  • Cardiac Surgery

We also provide care to adults with congenital heart defects. As techniques for treating congenital heart defects have improved over the years, so has the survival of children with these conditions allowing them to reach adulthood. Multidisciplinary care is provided that addresses all of the needs of our adult congenital heart disease patients. The program includes physicians specifically trained in adult congenital heart disease with expertise in:

  • echocardiography
  • interventional cardiac catheterization
  • interventional electrophysiology
  • pulmonary hypertension
  • complex congenital heart surgery, and
  • cardiac transplanation

Our program's seamless integration with the Division of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery ensures that patients who require surgical intervention receive continuity of care throughout their treatment and recovery.

Our highly trained team also includes nurse specialists in cardiology and transplant, genetic counselors, social workers dedicated to pediatric cardiology patients, child psychiatrists, physical therapists, and child life specialists. These outstanding professionals share a commitment to our patients and their families that embraces not only clinical excellence, but also an astute understanding of their emotional and psychological needs.

We are proud to be part of a major academic medical center with a large team of physicians and cardiac surgeons who share their perspectives and knowledge to address virtually every form of congenital heart disease. With more than 15,000 echocardiograms performed a year, more than 1,200 diangostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, and more than 700 cardiac surgeries, Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital can offer the highest quality of care with the best possible outcomes for our young patients.
