Pediatric Urology
Pasquale Casale, MD
Chief, Division of Pediatric Urology
Disorders of the urinary tract and genitals are not uncommon among infants, children, and adolescents. In addition to impairing normal function, they can also affect quality of life, self-esteem, and sexuality. The Division of Pediatric Urology at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital understands the impact these disorders can have on young patients and their families, and offers prompt and effective diagnosis and treatment in a family-friendly setting so that children can go on to live healthy lives.
Our multidisciplinary team collaborates with specialists in the Divisions of Oncology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, and Neurology to ensure that your child receives the comprehensive care necessary to treat his or her disorder. We are also developing a transitional program to facilitate the care of children and adolescents with chronic urologic disorders as they move into adulthood, linking them with the specialists they need and teaching them to advocate for their own healthcare needs.
We treat the full range of pediatric urologic disorders, from common conditions such as bed-wetting to rare congenital abnormalities. When a child needs surgery, our pediatric urologists employ minimally invasive approaches whenever possible. We are a leading center for endoscopic, laparoscopic, and robotic urologic surgery. Our surgeons perform complex reconstructive surgery for abnormalities of the bladder, urethra, and genitalia. They are also specialists in the care of urologic disorders diagnosed during pregnancy, and perform complex surgery for bladder exstrophy, obstructions, and other urinary tract conditions in the developing fetus.
The Division of Pediatric Urology also includes experienced pediatric urology nurse practitioners with over 25 years of combined clinical experience in caring for children with urologic disorders, and a physician assistant who conducts comprehensive urodynamic evaluations for children with voiding dysfunction. We know that treatment for a urologic condition can be challenging for you, your child, and your family, so we provide guidance and support to help get you through this time.
