Psychiatry (Child and Adolescent)
Lourival Baptista Neto, MD
Director, Clinical Services in Pediatric PsychiatryNewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital offers one of the largest psychiatry programs in the country for young patients, offering specialized diagnostic, treatment, and crisis intervention services to several thousand children and adolescents each year. Our mission is to provide high-quality comprehensive mental health services for your child and your family.
The Child Psychiatry Division provides a full range of services at specialized outpatient clinics for children with disruptive behavior disorders, anxiety and depression, Tourette’s disorder, and pervasive developmental disorders. In addition, we offer community-based mental health services, such as on-site school-based mental health services in ten local elementary schools and mental health services and consultation at three NewYork-Presbyterian primary healthcare clinics.
If your child has been hospitalized for medical or surgical treatment, we provide psychiatric consultation to facilitate his or her ability to participate in medical care, cope with the illness or injury, ease any anxiety surrounding difficult tests and procedures, and enhance recovery. Patients who are candidates for heart, lung, bone marrow, and kidney transplantation also have psychiatric evaluations as part of their care.
Your child and your family benefit from the expertise of a caring and highly skilled team of psychiatric specialists, and have access to a wide range of services and programs tailored to your individual needs and diagnosis.
