Pediatric Surgery
Steven Stylianos, MD
Chief, Division of Pediatric SurgeryThe Division of Pediatric Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital carries a tradition of leadership and innovation that dates back nearly half a century. We are proud of our experience as educators at one of the original training programs for pediatric surgeons in the United States, as pioneers conducting research in many aspects of pediatric surgery, and most importantly, as doctors who provide high quality, compassionate, and family-centered care for infants, children, and adolescents.
Every member of our staff is a member of the faculty of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. The faculty is locally, nationally, and internationally known for a wide range of expertise including:
- Extracorporeal life support (ECMO) for infants and children with life-threatening cardiorespiratory failure
- Minimal access surgery of the chest and abdomen
- Cancer surgery in children
- Treatment of congenital birth defects before and after birth, including special expertise in the care of children with congenital diaphragmatic hernia
- Pediatric trauma care
- Treatment of vascular malformations
Beyond our reputation for patient care, education, and research, we take particular pride in combining pediatric surgical expertise with compassion. Uniquely designed to ease your anxieties and those of your child and other family members, our family-centered care offers guest accommodations within the hospital, parental access to the operating and recovery rooms, and support groups.
At Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital, we strive to make every child and family's visit with us as easy and as comfortable as possible.
