Orthopaedic Surgery

David P. Roye, Jr., MD
Director, Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery

Musculoskeletal conditions and injuries of infants, children and adolescents can have long-lasting consequences on their ability to function and their overall quality of life. The Division of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital offers specialized expertise in the broad spectrum of congenital, developmental and traumatic disorders affecting bones, soft tissues, joints and the neuromuscular system. We provide surgical and non-surgical treatment for conditions such as scoliosis, club foot, leg length differences, orthopaedic tumors, fractures, and cerebral palsy.

All of our physicians are fellowship trained in pediatric orthopaedic surgery and are recognized leaders in the field. A dedicated team of physicians and nurses understands the particular developmental needs of children, taking into account a holistic view of the child and his or her musculoskeletal system when planning treatment. Their expertise is complemented by a full range of associated resources, including physical therapy, pediatric rehabilitation medicine, and orthotic and prosthetic services.

Working together to help improve the musculoskeletal health of children and adolescents and enabling them to enjoy the best quality of life possible, our team continues to advance the discipline through research, particularly in the area of treatment outcomes. Their achievements have profoundly influenced the techniques that are today helping to restore mobility and function to young patients around the world.

Affiliated with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, one of the most prestigious medical schools in the country, the Division of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery is committed to providing the highest quality care, pursuing innovative research, and training top pediatric orthopaedic surgeons of the future.

Please do not hesitate to call us with any questions. We encourage the involvement of families in all aspects of diagnosis, treatment and recovery, and will be sure to address your concerns.
