Our Hospital Ranks Among the Top 10 Nationally for Neonatal Care, Heart and Heart Surgery, and Digestive Disorders
NEW YORK (June 2, 2008) Our Children's Hospital is the only New York hospital to rank in all seven clinical areas reported in the 2008 U.S.News & World Report "America's Best Children's Hospitals" issue. The Hospital also ranks among the top 10 nationally in three categories: Neonatal Care (#4), Heart and Heart Surgery (#6) and Digestive Disorders (#8).The ranking accounts for NewYork-Presbyterian's two major centers for children's health care: Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of NewYork-Presbyterian and the Komansky Center for Children's Health at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
The second annual "America's Best Children's Hospitals" rankings reflect reputation, volume and other patient-care-related factors. This special issue is available on newsstands on Monday, June 2. The complete report can be viewed at www.usnews.com/pediatrics.
"From newborns to adolescents, children in need of serious medical attention deserve the best care available. Through our affiliation with two of the nation's leading medical colleges --Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Weill Cornell Medical College--our pediatric specialists are continually introducing new advanced treatment options," says Dr. Herbert Pardes, president and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. "We are very pleased to again be recognized as one of the leading children's hospitals included in the list of 'America's Best Children's Hospitals.'"
"We are grateful for the dedication and teamwork of our Hospital's pediatric health care professionals, who together achieved this special honor," adds Dr. Steven J. Corwin, executive vice president and chief operating officer of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
