Social Work Services
The social worker for the Spasticity Center works with parents to connect their children with community resources that can help to facilitate their progress. These resources may include physical therapy, homecare, and mental health services. The social worker also provides guidance on applying for or changing insurance and assistance with school issues that may arise with children who are disabled. Working with the Center’s nurse practitioner, the social worker can also order medical equipment for patients. As needed, the social worker provides supportive counseling to patients and/or parents.
