Project STAY (Services to Assist Youth)
Programs
Outreach and Education
Project STAY has trained peer educators who reach youth by "taking it to the streets." Our team of peer educators pass out health information to young people on neighborhood street corners, parks, nightclubs, sporting events, and anywhere else young people gather.
Mobile Health Education and Screening (MHES) TeamTo address the need to provide services to high-risk youth in community settings, we have developed a Mobile Health Education and Screening (MHES) Team. The team consists of health providers, social workers and health educators. They deliver interactive multimedia sexual education program that debunks myths and stereotypes about sexually transmitted infections and HIV while providing youth with relevant and timely information. Following the presentation, youth are offered individualized counseling and non-invasive screening tests for STDs and HIV, and are given appointments to follow-up at our clinic for results.
