Educating the Community

Working in close partnership with the Community Pediatrics Program at Columbia University Medical Center and General Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medical College allows for a collaboration with community based organizations and leaders. The relationship with the community helps the Hospital identify needs and solutions for children's health issues in our immediate area.

For both our immediate community and our larger children's health community, the Hospital sponsors educational forums, town hall meetings and lectures to increase awareness of advocacy issues and the public policy process. Examples of topics include access to health care and chronic disease management. The Hospital recognizes the importance of building relationships with elected officials, community leaders and the media. Toward that end, the Hospital serves as a resource providing accurate information and ideas about children's healthcare issues.
