Why Choose Us for Your Child's Care
- The Division of Pediatric Ophthalmology at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital provides a depth and breadth of expertise in the diagnosis and medical and surgical treatment of vision-related disorders in infants, children and adolescents.
- Our pediatric ophthalmologists provide a full range of care from routine eye examinations and care for strabismus (eye misalignment or abnormal eye movements) and amblyopia (lazy eye) to more uncommon eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, and retinopathy of prematurity, a potentially blinding disorder in premature infants.
- We offer special testing not routinely available for children elsewhere, including vision testing for pre-verbal children, orthoptic evaluation and treatment, and pediatric visual field testing.
- Our experienced retinal surgeons often perform 'bedside' laser surgery on premature infants that does not require general anesthesia. Our physicians are also skilled in performing intraocular surgery on premature infants with severe retinopathy of prematurity.
- At the forefront of pediatric ophthalmology research, Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital is participating in a 23-center National Eye Institute trial on Early Treatment of Retinopathy of Prematurity. Our physicians have earned national recognition as experts in the telemedicine diagnosis of retinopathy of prematurity.
