Why Choose Us for Your Child's Care

  • NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital is a New York State Department of Health-designated Regional Perinatal Center dedicated to providing the highest level of expertise to care for women with high-risk pregnancies.
  • Our Hospital's early neonatologists, perinatologists, and obstetricians collaborated in research that helped to shape the field of neonatology, including the development of the APGAR score, the standard testing system for evaluating a newborn.
  • Hundreds of newborn babies a year are transferred to our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) from hospitals in the Greater New York metropolitan region. Our 24/7 transport service can arrange for transfer of critically ill newborns from referring hospitals via specially staffed and equipped vehicles.
  • Our maternal/fetal medicine specialists have advanced knowledge of the obstetrical, medical, genetic, and surgical challenges that can affect both the mother and her unborn child.
  • Our Division of Maternal/Fetal Medicine provides formal genetic consultation for individual and family history risk assessment and discussion of prenatal screening and diagnostic options such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling and pre-conception counseling to review individual medical history and discuss potential obstetrical challenges.
