MaterialsAllen wrench for fixator
Frequency
Four times a day
Directions
- Loosen joints with wrench at bottom/top of fixator.
- Place wrench in lengthening joint and turn one quarter (1/4) turn (follow arrow on fixator for direction; often counterclockwise).
- Retighten joints that were loosened>
- Repeat same process four time a day>
Call your doctor if lengthening joint is too difficult to turn or if fixator frame becomes loose.

Computer color coded printout of Lengthening schedule.
Frequency
Once a day as indicated on schedule printout.
Directions
Follow daily schedule for each numbered strut. Turn strut to the appropriate number for that day.
Call your doctor is if strut becomes too difficult to turn. Schedule appointment with the doctor for the dates identified on the computer printout for the struts to be changed or replaced.
