Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism
Why Choose Us for Your Child's Care
- The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism provides diagnosis and the most advanced therapies, as well as consultation, for children and adolescents with endocrine or metabolic diseases.
- The Division is a city-wide, regional, national and international referral site for children with disorders of growth and pubertal development; obesity, insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes; neuroendocrine dysfunction; metabolic bone disease and abnormalities of body composition; adrenal disorders; and endocrine problems related to pediatric cancer and its treatment.
- The Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center focuses on both the prevention and treatment of diabetes and is one of three Diabetes Centers of Excellence in New York State. Cited by the American Diabetes Association for its quality care, the Center offers unique multidisciplinary family-centered services, including home and school visits, an insulin pump program, and education programs for grandparents and other caregivers.
- The Division has approximately 6,000 patient visits each year. We are also a designated New York State Newborn Screening Referral Center for thyroid disorders and congenital hyperplasia.
